Deborah L. Finnerty (nee Gokey) passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 10th, 2023. She was 74 years old. Debbie was born in Suffern, New York on July 14, 1949 to Louis and Louise Gokey. Debbie was raised in Haverstraw, NY and was part of the first graduating class from North Rockland High School in 1967. She married the love of her life, Michael, on June 16, 1968. They were high school sweethearts. Debbie worked as a Senior Court Clerk for the Town of Stony Point Justice Court until her retirement in 2011. Debbie will be most remembered for her love of 50's and 60's music and dancing. She was an avid Elvis fan. She had a passion for travel, shopping, and casinos. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events.Debbie is survived by her sons Michael (Kathy) and Keith, her sister Sharon (John), her sister-in-law Margaret, brother-in-law Frank (Cathy), nieces Debbie (Ken), Bridget (Joe), Allison (John) and nephew John, her 5 grandchildren Meagan (Dana), Mikey, Sean, Patrick, and Kerry. Debbie was predeceased by her loving husband Michael; her parents Louis and Louise, and her brother Buddy. Family will receive friends on Wednesday 4PM- 8PMat T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N.Central Highway, Garnerville, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday November 16, 2023 at 10am at St. Peter's Church Haverstraw, followed by interment at Mount Repose Cemetery, Haverstraw, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Calvary Hospital (www.calvaryhospital.org).
