Ed Hanus, 72, beloved Father & Poppy passed away Saturday April 6th with his loving children by his side. The son of Bill & Julia Hanus, he was born January 4, 1947 in the Bronx. He is predeceased by his Bride of 47 years Ann (Conway).
Survived by his Children Jennifer (Jeff) Ehlers, Amy (Tom) Lucey, Julie Hanus And son Eddie; Brother Bill (Jackie) Hanus and cousins, Kathy Collins and Tricia Adams.
Beloved grandchildren jack, Liam, Abby, Lila, Ava, Danny and Emma
Ed retired from the New York City Transit Police - District 3 in 1992. He went on to work at St. Thomas Aquinas College until his retirement 10 years ago.
Ed’s favorite times were spent with his family, playing softball in the Bronx, coaching CYO basketball, drinking a cold beer and playing the penny slots.

Ed’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from 1-4 & 6-9 PM at T.J. McGOWAN SONS FUNERAL HOME, 71 N. Central Highway, GARNERVILLE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Ed on Thursday, April 11 at 10AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, in Stony Point, with interment to follow at Mt. Repose Cemetery in Haverstraw.
