Eleanor Lorenzana

Eleanor Lorenzana (Ely), 97, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026. She was surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in New York City, New York to Felicia and Frank Yulfo and was the eldest of five children. She started work with New York State Power Authority and continued working for the state until she retired. Ely was preceded in death by her husband, Mario Lorenzana, and is survived by her daughter, Denise Werlitz, son-in-law, William Werlitz, granddaughters, Cynthia Morris and Carissa Werlitz, and great grandchildren Selina, Emily and Brayden.

She led a full life working a full-time job, caring for her family, including close relatives. However, she enjoyed life getting together with family and friends, making countless memories. Ely enjoyed traveling and visiting casinos as often as she could. Ely was a quiet soul, loving, caring, and very giving. Her happiness and joy was being around her family, and friends. She will be missed greatly.

Visitation will be held  Tuesday June 30th At T.J. McGowan Funeral Home at 71. N Central Hwy. Garnerville, NY. from 4:00pm - 8:00pm. Funeral mass 11:00am Wednesday July 1st at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church with Burial to follow at Mt. Repose Cemetery in Haverstraw.
