Eric E. Schreck jr., age 88, of Stony Point passed away at home Sunday, November 7th.
Born November 8, 1932 to Erich and Agnes (Bryce) Schreck, he grew up in Flushing, Queens.
After high school, Eric joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Maryland and Florida and honorably discharged as a Machinist Mate. Interests that developed when he was young stayed with him throughout his life, particuarly homing pigeons and sailing. Whether in the air or on the Hudson, Eric was competitive and always strove for excellence earning many trophies through the years.
A lithographer by trade, Eric met the love of his life, Ella, through work and they enjoyed 45-years of marriage until her passing in 2002. Eric was also pre-deceased by his parents and his brother, John.
Surviving are his children Carol (Steve) Butsko, Barbara Fitzgerald, Eric III (Stella), and Nancy (Angelo) Rivera. Loving grandfather and inspiration to Jessica (Martin) Keller, Rebecca (Jonathan Heifetz) Fitzgerald, and Eric IV, Brian Lauler, Robert (Alexis) Quinlan, and their children.
