John Anthony Del Negro

JOHN ANTHONY DEL NEGRO John Anthony Del Negro of Garnerville, New York passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, January 7, 2022. John was affectionately known as Jack, Hogan, Uncle Jack and most importantly Pop-Pop. He was born on May 11, 1941, on Mother’s Day, in Bronx, New York to Anna and John Del Negro. He attended St. Benedict’s Grammar School and Fordham Prep where he was co-captain of the football team, played baseball and was on the track team. He graduated from Iona College and was a member of the Marine Corp Reserve. He met the love of his life Barbara (Cimo) on a blind date for a dance at Fordham Prep. It was love at first sight. They were married in 1966 and moved to Garnerville in 1971 where they raised two children, Susan and John. Jack worked in Information Technology for many years. He enjoyed playing golf. He loved all the holidays, especially Christmas. Family was his pride and joy. He never missed a family occasion. He will be greatly missed and will always be remembered for his generous and loving heart. John is survived by his loving and devoted wife Barbara, his children Susan Dalton and John (Jennifer); four grandchildren, Brandon, Anthony, Dylan and Kaitlin. He is also survived by his three sisters Joan (Bob), Bonnie (Chris – deceased), and Janice (Paul). He leaves behind his many nieces and nephews who were all very special to him. A visitation for John will be held Friday, January 14, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at T. J. Mc Gowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY 10923. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church, 21 Cinder Road, Garnerville, NY. 10923.
