Joseph T. McKeever, 81, of Stony Point passed away on March 21, 2019. He was born on July 10, 1937 in New York City to John & Agnes (Mooney) McKeever. Joe proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps. He married the love of his life Ilona Gulak on February 4, 1961 in St. Mary’s Church in Haverstraw. Joe worked for Orange & Rockland utilities as a supervisor for 30 years. He was a past member of the AOH. Joe is an avid NY Giants & Yankees fan, he enjoyed his vacations in Lake George as well as his trips to Saratoga Racetrack. Joe was very proud and enjoyed celebrating his Irish Heritage. Joe was predeceased by his sisters & brother Dorothy Morley, Joan Leonard, Sr. Damian Marie and Fr. Fred. He is survived by his loving Wife of 58 years Ilona of Stony Point, NY, his beloved children Ilona (Jack) Mara of Campbell Hall, NY, Joseph (Kathleen) McKeever of Wallkill, NY, Thomas (Gemma) McKeever of Goshen, NY, Timothy McKeever of Stony Point, NY, Karen (Tom) Talamini of Garnerville, NY, and Mary (Bryan) Meek of Norwalk, CT, his adored 14 grandchildren and his cherished 2 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends & family on Monday March 25th from3 – 8 PM at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway Garnerville, NY. A mass of Christian burial; will be celebrated for Joseph on Tuesday March 26th at 10 AM in Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point with Interment to follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet, NY. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in Joseph’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
