With sadness we announce the passing of Loretta Perini (nee Pilkerton) on May 7, 2023. She died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. She was 80 years old. She was born to Gladys and Leo Pilkerton in Leonardtown, MD. She worked for a short time as a clerk for the FBI in Washington, D.C. After moving to New York, Loretta worked as a traffic manager for Kay-Fries Inc. in Stony Point for 11 years and then at Balchem Corp in Slate Hill, NY for 25 years, a job she loved. Loretta grew up on a tobacco farm in Southern Maryland on the Potomac River where she got her love for boating, swimming, and water skiing. She also loved gardening and working in the yard. She loved to sing and did so with several choral groups including the Hudsoneers. She was an active member of the Stony Point Seniors and an avid reader. She also loved volunteering at the Penguin Rep Theatre. Loretta will always be remembered as a loving and caring person. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sons John Bender and is wife, Susan, and Eric Bender and his wife, Giselle, and her two beautiful granddaughters, Amanda and Kasandra Bender. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Leroy. Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, May 20th, 2023 from 3pm-7pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Garnerville, NY. Memorial Service will be held at 6:30pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Penguin Rep Theatre, PO Box 91, Stony Point, NY 10980.
