Matthew J. Rau
Mar 12, 1990 — Jul 1, 2023
Matthew J. Rau passed away suddenly with his family by his side on July 1, 2023. He was 33 years old. Matthew was born in Nyack, NY on March 12, 1990 to Thomas and Joan Rau. He was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas College where he received a B.S. in Business Management. Matt was a banker employed at Chase Bank in Westchester County, New York. He enjoyed hiking and golfing with family and friends and was an avid New York Sports fan, particularly passionate about the New York Rangers. Matthew is survived by his loving parents Thomas and Joan and his sisters Melissa, Jennifer and Kaitlyn. He is also survived by his Aunt and Uncle Julie and John Bubenko, Aunt Kathy Miller, and numerous cousins and friends. Matthew had the biggest heart, was committed to friends and family, and always saw the good in people. Matt was a humble, lovable person who left a lasting impression on all those that he met. Our beloved Matt was taken from us too soon but will remain in our hearts forever. May his spirit live on and find eternal peace.
Please consider making a donation on behalf of Matt’s memory to the (vascular) Ehlers-Danlos Society.
