Maureen Prentice of Garnerville passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 20, 2019. She was 63 years old. Maureen was born in New York City on August 19, 1955 to the late James & Maureen (Egan) Moran. Maureen was a graduate of North Rockland High School and received degrees from Rockland Community College. Maureen worked for over 20 years at Lecthworth village and eventually retired from Rockland County Family Court after another 15 years, where she was loved & respected by her colleagues . She is survived by her children Matthew Prentice of Pomona, Lauren Prentice of Garnerville, and Kristen Prentice of Stony Point; Grandchildren Kassidy, James Aidan, Addison & Declan. Also survived by her sister Eileen (Moran) Charles and brother Brendan Moran, as well as many cousins, nieces & nephews. Maureen was an advocate for animal rights and is survived by her beloved dog Violet.
Family & friend may visit Wednesday Feb. 27th from3 – 8 PM at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway Garnerville. A private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers you may consider a donation in Maureen’s memory to the NYC Hemophilia Chapter to support her grandson James. NYHemophilia.org/get-involved/donate/
