Nicholas J. Mandikas, Jr.

Mar 16, 1960 — Apr 25, 2026

Nicholas Mandikas Jr. passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, surrounded by his beloved family and friends.

He was born on March 16, 1960, in the Bronx, New York, to Nicholas Mandikas Sr. and Irene Mandikas (Cominetto). He was raised in Tappan and later moved to Garnerville with his wife, Jaci, where they raised their family for more than 30 years. Nick and Jaci also spent time in Jupiter, Florida, a place they cherished as their home away from home.

Nick graduated from Tappan Zee High School, Pace University, and went on to earn his MBA from Iona University. He dedicated 41 years of his career to the 3M Company, where he supported the Converter Markets division and built lasting relationships with colleagues and customers alike. He was hardworking, respected, and a mentor to many.

Known as Nicky to those closest to him, he will be remembered as a loving father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was known for his kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to his family. He found great joy in winemaking, often mentoring friends in the process, as well as gardening, especially tending to his fig trees. He also had a deep passion for food, always eager to try new restaurants and ready to offer an honest review of his meals.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Jaci; his children, Michael and Lauren (Dominic); his mother, Irene; his sisters, Karen and Susan; his sister-in-law, Diane (Alan); and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Nicholas Mandikas Sr., in-laws, Jack and Joan Lasher, his grandparents, and his beloved dog Harley.

Visitation will be held on April 30, from 4:00–8:00 PM at T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on May 1, at 11:15 AM at Saint Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, 25 Cinder Road, Garnerville, NY, with burial to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or the David B. Roche Volunteer Fire Company. Nick’s warmth and compassion will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
