Richard Henry Williams (Rich) of Stony Point, NY passed away suddenly at home on August 31, 2019. He was born in 1941 in Pennsylvania to Frieda and Leon Williams. Rich married the love of his life Cindy on June 25, 1966. He was a math teacher with the Clarkstown School District for 33 years, retiring in 1997. He was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point and a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. Rich enjoyed being outdoors….hiking, walking or working in his own backyard. He also enjoyed managing his real estate projects. Rich is predeceased by his parents and survived by his loving wife Cindy Williams of Stony Point, his beloved daughters Carla Salerno Silvestri and her husband, Victor, of Upper Saddle River, NJ, and Christine Jacobsen and her husband, Jeff, of Monroe, NY, and his cherished and adored three grandchildren, Brooke and Michael Jacobsen and Paige Silvestri. Also surviving are his sister, Hilda Irion, and brother, George (Joan) Williams, and many loving nieces and nephews. Rich is also survived by his business partner and “brother,” Hughie McCarville.
The family will receive friends & family on Thursday, September 5th at the T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway, Garnerville, NY from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Richard on Friday September 6th at 10AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, 21 John St., Stony Point with a private cremation to follow. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rich’s memory to Haverstraw Ambulance Corps, Inc. 160 North Route 9W, Haverstraw, NY 10927 Attn: Donations.
