Rick F Benzinger

Richard F. “Rick” Benzinger, 83, of Stony Point, NY passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August27, 2019. He was born on June 1, 1936 in the Bronx to Francis Catherine (Noonan) Benzinger. Rick proudly served his country in the US Army. He married the love of his life Patricia (Patsy) McBride on August 31, 1973. Rick was a firefighter with the FDNY for 26 years serving on Ladder 84, Engine 29 and Rescue 3, retiring in 1988. He was a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Church in Garnerville. He was a member of the Haverstraw Elks 877 and the Leo Laders American Legion Post 130. He is predeceased by his parents and his two brothers Francis and John Benzinger. Rick is survived by his loving wife (Patricia) “Patsy” Benzinger of Stony Point, his beloved children Michael and his wife Angela of Orange County, Kevin of Stony Point, Richard and his wife Denise and Joan Marie and her husband Kevin Hullings both of New Jersey, his cherished and adored 11 grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and sister & brother-in-law’s. The family will receive friends & family on Thursday Aug. 29th at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Ave Garnerville, NY from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 PM A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Richard on Friday Aug. 30th at 10:30 AM in St. Gregory Barbarigo Church in Garnerville with a private cremation to follow.
