Robert O. Rivera
d. Jan 18, 2019
Robert O. Rivera, age 32, was born on November 8, 1986 in Nyack, NY and passed away unexpectedly on January 18, 2019.
Robert was a 2005 graduate of North Rockland High School where his passion for golf grew. As a teenager, he practiced and played every day at Phillip J. Rotella Golf Course. If he wasn’t playing, he was hanging out at the pro shop or on the range. He was always looking to learn more about the game and improve his own skills. Robert was a true competitor. As an adult, Robert was employed as a caddie at Dellwood Country Club for many years. He loved meeting people that shared his passion surrounded by fairways and greens.
Robert was the beloved son of Lorraine and James Koutros, and the late Orlando Rivera. He is also survived by his brother Orlando, wife Christine and niece Elizabeth; his stepbrothers Pete and Angelo (Tracy) Koutros and their sons James and Alexander; his sister Liza (Dave) Pucciarelli and family. He also leaves behind his loving grandparents Magdalena (Marty) Salvato, Maria Rivera and Robert (Dolores) Salvato, along with his aunt Lisa Salvato and her partner Marla Cohen. Robert will be greatly missed by his girlfriend Lauren Singer, his cat Mimi and numerous friends.
Robert’s family will receive friends at T.J. MCGOWAN SONS FUNERAL HOME in Garnerville on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 4-8 PM. Funeral mass will be on Thursday, January 24 at 10 AM at St. Peter’s Church in Haverstraw.
