Rosemary R. Bottomley

Rosemary Bottomley of Garnerville, NY died peacefully with her family by her side at the Joe Raso Hospice Residence, New City, NY, at the age of 91. Rosemary was born in the Bronx, NY to Joseph and Margaret McCarthy on March 4, 1931. Rosemary grew up in the Bronx and graduated from Cathedral High School in the Bronx. She worked for the Town of Haverstraw as deputy receiver of taxes before retiring. She was a founding member of Saint Gregory Barbarigo Parish and devout Catholic. She had a passion for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On October 4, 1952, she married Robert H. Bottomley and moved to Garnerville, NY where they raised their 6 children. Rosemary is survived by her children, Rosemary (George) Natale, Denise (Peter) Finch, Diane Cinque, Dennis (Brenda) Bottomley, Donna (James) Derusha and daughter-in-law Sherry Bottomley; grandchildren Mark, Richard, Jillian, Melissa, Christopher, Joseph, Robert, Tyler, and Samantha; great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Adriana, Robert, Aubrey, Hayden, and Charlotte; two sisters Doris Johnson, Julia O’Connor. Rosemary is predeceased by her husband, Robert H. Bottomley, son Robert Bottomley, grandson Scott Natale, granddaughter Jaclyn Cinque and sisters Barbara Jones and Margaret Bramswig. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 30, from 3-7pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Garnerville, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 31, 11am at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church, Garnerville, followed by interment at Fred Loescher Cemetery, Spring Valley, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in her name to Saint Gregory Barbarigo Church, 29 Cinder Road, Garnerville, NY 10923.
