Thomas John Jenkins
Thomas John Jenkins, native of Stony Point and graduate of Haverstraw High School class of ‘67, passed away peacefully at Memorial Sloan Kettering hospital on Jan 14, age 70. Tom was a loving husband of 52 years to his wife JoAnn and devoted father to his children Thomas, Dawn-Marie, and Peter, and their spouses Amy, Jim, and Ah Young. He was a caring and patient grandpa to Sean, Chris, Nicole, Katie, and Eddie, and Toby the family dog. Tom was pre-deceased by brothers David and Mel Jenkins. He was a multi-talented man whose meticulous care and attention was shown in everything he did. Tom was a dedicated contributor to the County of Rockland Blood Drives, Stony Point Little League, and loved the Yankees and Giants through thick and thin. He loved fishing, had a passion for singing and arranging, and was a talented carpenter and woodworker. His skills in the kitchen were also legendary, and his famous gravy amongst other handcrafted recipes will live on for generations to come. Tom will be greatly missed by all who called him a friend, dad, or grandpa. Please join our family in celebrating his life at this Monday’s memorial service. The family will hold a Memorial Service at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 71 N. Central Highway Garnerville, NY at 3 PM with a Memorial Visitation from 4 -8 PM.
