Amarillis "Lily" Vila

Amarillis “Lily” Vila, 69, of Haverstraw, NY, passed away peacefully on May 26th, 2022. She was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on September 8th, 1952. Lily graduated from Grace H. Dodge Career and Tech High School and studied nursing. She married Jose “Joe” Vila in May of 1979. Lily had a career in home aide and worked for Home Aides of Rockland. She was a member of Bricktown Gospel Fellowship and had a passion for serving the lord but her greatest joys came from spending time with her family. She is survived by her children Denise Vargas, Joseph Vila, Diana Taerstein, Roxanne Vila, her grandchildren Elisa Chantel Young, Lani Vargas, Brianna Vargas, Juliahna Vila, Noaha Vila, Jacob Vila, Isabella Vila, her great grandchildren Ace Gladestone, Ezra Garachana, her siblings Augusto Salazar, Evelyn Vazquez, Anna Accomando. She was predeceased by her sister Nancy Viera. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9th, from 4pm-8pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Haverstraw, NY. Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 10th at 11am followed by a private cremation.
