Eileen Keenan
d. Feb 7, 2019
Eileen Dolan Keenan, a resident of Stony Point, New York passed away on February 7th. Eileen was born and raised in the Bronx where she attended St. Thomas Aquinas School, and graduated from Mother Butler High School. She retired as an administrative assistant at Roadway Trucking, and went on to serve as the secretary at Immaculate Conception parish in Stony Point.
Eileen was taken from us too soon, but certainly did not want for people who loved her. She is reunited with her beloved husband and best friend Jimmy who passed on in 2004. Eileen leaves behind many heartbroken relatives and friends. Her three sons, James, William, and John and nine beloved grandchildren survive Eileen. She leaves behind a sister Kathleen Dolan and was predeceased by her brothers, Peter and John, and her sister Margaret (Peggy). Many adoring nephews and nieces, and cousins from New York to Ireland also survive her.
Eileen’s life was a living example of her strong Catholic faith, and she reminded all who knew her what love is with her undying devotion to her husband Jimmy and her son Billy in their most difficult times. Her entire adult life Eileen was an active member of Immaculate Conception Parish, serving in the women’s club, as a religious education instructor, and heavily involved in homeless ministry and various charities.
Visitation is scheduled at TJ McGowan Sons funeral home at 133 Broadway, Haverstraw, NY from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday Feb 10th, and from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Monday Feb 11th.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church 26 John street Stony Point NY on Tuesday Feb 12 at 10 am.
Immediately following the mass Eileen will be laid to rest at St Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet NY
The Keenan Family would like to express our unending gratitude for the tremendous outpouring of love and generosity towards Eileen and her son Billy through the past several years.
