Francis "Sonny" Welsh
Dec 7, 1928 — Mar 22, 2024
Francis (Sonny) Welsh passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 22, 2024. He was 95 years old. Francis was born in Weehawken N.J. on December 7, 1928, to Mary and Francis Welsh. Francis attended George F Baker High School and later pursued higher education at Drake Business School before embarking on the path of monastic life at the Trappist Monastery in GA. After leaving the monastery, Francis also worked at Monroe Pipe and Tube, and had several other jobs before dedicating his career at the US Postal Service where he served for 25 years. Carmel Church in Tuxedo, NY, Knights of Columbus Monroe Chapter, and St. Peter's Church in Haverstraw, NY. He enjoyed playing basketball in high school and scuba diving.
