John Garrison passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 4, 2024. He was 64 years old. John was born to William and Julia (Picarello) Garrison in Haverstraw, New York, on November 22, 1959. He attended Saint Peter‘s School in Haverstraw and North Rockland High School. He was a skilled carpenter and a perfectionist when it came to his work. John moved to Stony Point with his wife, where he raised his two daughters and later his son. John, known to many as “Johnny G”, loved the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Yankees, and recently became a hockey fan rooting for the New York Rangers. His taste in music varied from Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra to Led Zeppelin and The Allman Brothers. He had a strong relationship with God and took pride in passing that on to his children.
John Garrison is survived by his wife JoAnne (Casey) Garrison, his three children Devyn Garrison, Casey Garrison, and John Garrison Jr.
He is also survived by his two brothers William Garrison (Stacey) and Richard Garrison, and his sisters JeanMarie Garrison (Al), Patricia Wargo (Stephen) and Kathleen Garrison as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved dearly.
He is predeceased by his Father William A. Garrison and his Mother Julia M. Garrison, as well as his nephew Anthony J. Garrison and several aunts, uncles, and cousins all of whom he loved dearly.
John will be waked at T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home on Broadway in Haverstraw, NY on Thursday, May 9th from 2pm - 4pm and 6pm - 8pm.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Peter’s Church on Broadway in Haverstraw, NY at 10 am on Friday, May 10th.
