Haverstraw - Peter Joseph Corrado, age 74, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2019 after a long bout of cancer. Peter was born on April 12, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY to Joseph G. Corrado and Susan Saltalamacchia. Peter moved to Rockland County in 1953 at age 8. He graduated from Haverstraw High School in 1962 and furthered his education by getting an Associate's Degree from RCC in 1972. He worked for Orange & Rockland for over 30 years.
Peter was an avid sports fan which included the Boston Red Sox and the Oakland Raiders, for whom he shared a passion with his son Justin Corrado. He umpired at RCUA for over 30 years. He also loved to talk about politics and his tattoos.
Peter is survived by his son Justin Corrado and by his sister Camille. He was predeceased by his parents. Peter will be missed by all who knew him.
Peter's family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at T.J. MCGOWAN SONS FUNERAL HOME, 133 Broadway, Haverstraw, NY, from 2-4 & 7-9PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Peter on Friday, April 26 at 10 AM at St. Peter's & St. Mary's Church in Haverstraw, with interment of ashes to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
