Thomas P. McSharar, Jr. 92, of Garnerville, New York, passed away on November 25, 2019. He was born on November 23, 1927 in Haverstraw, New York to Thomas P. McSharar,Sr and Margaret Smith McSharar. Tom proudly served his country in the US Army from ,1950 – 1954. Tom married the love of his life Anilda Rabatin on June 14, 1953 in St. Peters Church in Haverstraw. He worked for the Federal Paper Board and International Paper for more than 30 Years as a Die Maker. Tom was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife of 65 years Anilda McSharar, his Brother Francis (Mildred) and Sister Mary (Richard Curran), and Brother In-Laws Michael Mancuso, Michael Palkovic, and Joseph Rabatin (Germaine). Tom is survived by his seven children James (Janet), Mary, Kathleen, Thomas (Cindy), Joseph (Lorraine), Dennis (Margaret), John (Peggy), and Francis (Janet), His twelve cherished Grandchildren Traviss, Kerri (Chris), Cailyn (Allison), Garrett (Tanya), Kyle, Colin, Brigette (Pat), Jennifer, Lindsey, Patrick, Sean, and Kacey, His nine Great Grandchildren, two sister-in-laws Kathleen Mancuso, and Joan Palkovic, his brother-in-Law Edward “Buzz” Rabatin (Barbara), and by numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.
The family will receive friends & relatives on Tuesday November 26th from 7-9 PM & Wednesday November 27th from 4 – 8 PM at the TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home 133 Broadway, Haverstraw, New York. A Private cremation will follow. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held for both Thomas & Anilda on Saturday, November 30th at 10 AM in St Peters & St. Mary’s Church in Haverstraw , with burial of both of their Ash’s in the F. Loescher Veterans Cemetery in New Hempstead, NY
