Brenda Dillon
June 3, 1943 — August 11, 2022
Brenda Trent Dillon, 79, of Charlotte, after a prolonged illness, passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of August 11. Brenda was born in Leaksville, NC a few months after her life-partner-to-be Loyd Dillon was born in nearby Spray, NC. Brenda and Loyd attended the same high school (JM Morehead), began dating, loved shag dancing together, were each other's Senior Prom date, and eloped a couple of years later. Brenda was a very intelligent avid reader and honor roll student. She and Loyd were inducted into the National Honor Society during the same ceremony. Wednesday August 17th 2022 would mark their 59th year of marriage.
Brenda was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In addition to running the home, handling the finances and raising 3 boys, Brenda's career in administration included work with Roche Biomedical of Charlotte as well as Charlotte Orthopedic Specialists. She loved gardening and maintained an extensive collection of perennials. She loved birding and she loved her cats. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family and caring for them. She was wise, kind, gentle, patient, umderstanding, and grateful. Her strength showed no limitations, nor did her love.
Brenda is survived by her husband Loyd Dillon of Charlotte, their three sons and their families:
Calvin and Jennifer Dillon of Florida with their daughter Grace Dillon, son Joe Dillon, daughter Samantha Robinson, her husband Hunter Robinson and their two daughters Eliza Jane and Adeline; Daniel and Lisa Dillon of Massachusetts; Jonathan and his wife Jennifer Dillon of Chatham County, NC with their son Clayton Dillon and their daughter Sally Dillon.
Her memorial service will be at 10 am Saturday, August 20 in the sanctuary of the UUCC, 234 N. Sharon Amity Road Charlotte NC 28211. To view the service remotley please use the link as follows: https://youtu.be/rAl1fPTRX_I
