John Baxter Tallent Jr.

Mr. Tallent, 89, of Charlotte, NC died December 26, 2014. He was a native Charlottean, born November 2, 1925. He was the son of the late John Baxter and Daisy Moore Tallent. Mr. Tallent is survived by his wife of 62 years Corinna Hatcher Tallent. Mr. Tallent was a long standing member of First Presbyterian Church serving as a deacon. He volunteered with Friendship Trays and was a former member of the Oasis Shriners clown unit. Mr. Tallent, 89, of Charlotte, NC died December 26, 2014. In addition to his wife survivors include his children, Ellen Warters and husband Robert; Julia Hunsuck and husband Chuck; Camille Smith and John B. Tallent, III and wife Bobbi; 4 grandchildren, Heather Tallent, John Banks Tallent, Jeffrey Smith and Shelley Smith; 2 great-grandchildren; Evan and Emma Tallent; sister Helen Hudson Tallent. Two sisters preceded him in death, Mary Tallent Cochrane and Sarah Tallent Niven. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 12:00 pm at Sharon Memorial Park for family and friends. A visitation will follow at 1:00 pm at J.B. Tallent Funeral Service.
