Lorenzo Morrow Walker, Jr.

Lorenzo Morrow Walker, Jr. passed from this earth on May 22, 2026.

“Lo”, as he was fondly called, was born to the late Virginia Hall Walker and Lorenzo Morrow Walker, Sr. on March 18, 1949.

Lo grew up with a loving family, and he was especially fond of taking trips with The Boy Scouts, troop #3, in Charlotte, NC, for which his father was a scoutmaster. Family holidays were also a favorite of Lo’s. Lo graduated from Garinger High School and held jobs at Presbyterian Hospital, Latin School and security at an event space among others. Lo received firefighter of the year award in 1991 and was a lifetime member of Matthews Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, Lo was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Elizabeth Marsh Hall and Norman E. Hall and his paternal grandmother, Lilly Imen. Other close family members preceding Lo in death were Anne Hall Barker, Marjorie Wiggins Hall and Norman Lewis Hall.

Lo is survived by a sister, Elizabeth W. Hill and her husband Haywood N. Hill, a daughter, Rebecca Ripple and her husband Robert and their children Amelia and Theodore Ripple and nieces Laura Hill Bonnet and Robin Hill Sanchez as well as several cousins.

The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Charlotte Health and Rehabilitation Center and Via Health Partners for the kind and compassionate care they extended to Lorenzo.
