Randy Lester McElwain
Jun 22, 1953 — Jul 3, 2026
Randy Lester McElwain passed away peacefully on the evening of July 3, 2026, with family by his side.
Born on June 22, 1953, in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, 1 of 7 children, he was the son of the late Jack McElwain and Betty (Ramper) McElwain. He attended Union Springs High School where he played football, baseball, and basketball. Sports would remain one of his lifelong passions. In fact some of his favorite childhood memories were listening to the Yankees on the radio with his father.
If you knew Randy, you would know he never met a stranger. He was happiest surrounded by people, telling stories, making others laugh, and carrying on conversations that could last for hours. Whether it was reminiscing about the “good ole days”, talking Yankees baseball, debating New York Giant’s football, or simply sharing life experiences. He was known for his sense of humor, quick wit, and genuine interest in others which left a lasting impression on all those who crossed his path.
Randy is survived by his children: Daniel (Trina) McElwain, Jennifer (Derek) Bronner, and Richard McElwain; six beloved grandchildren: Michael, Bailey, Logan, Ethan, Reagan, and Riley; one great- grandchild, Ellie; sisters: Jackie, Carol, and Cheri; brothers: Tom, Tim, and Bill; and many more loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his brother, Doug.
As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that somewhere, Randy has found the best seat in the house, listening to another Yankees game, sharing another story, and smiling the way those who loved him will always remember.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
