Sergio Trojer

Sergio Trojer, born in Trieste Italy on March 20, 1938 passed away peacefully in Charlotte on July 17, 2026 at the age of 88.

He was remembered for being a considerate, patient, caring, loyal, honorable, and loving son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was funny, wise, grounded, understanding, full of knowledge, and loved life. He loved interacting with different kinds of people, learning from them, and enriching his knowledge through conversation and travel.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Joanna Trojer, his two daughters Vittoria Trojer and Elisabetta Trojer, his grandchildren Margherita Mauro, Maia Walen, Alessandro Mauro, and Lucia Walen.

A man of rich inner culture, Sergio was an avid reader and writer who loved language arts, music, and exploring and knowing the world he lived in. He spoke fluent Italian, English, Spanish, and French with a colorful vocabulary in many more languages. During his life, he traveled the world often as a salesman for the Textile Industry, eventually, settling down in Charlotte, North Carolina where he lived with his family for over forty years. He loved Charlotte, and it was there that he founded a successful business with his talented wife Joanna. In his career, he was known for his cleverness, quick wit, and relentless ambition, always striving to better himself and excel in everything he set his mind to.

Sergio spent the last twenty years of his life writing and self-publishing his memoirs in a series of books, each named after the city where he or his relatives lived. The books are filled with his and his family's life stories, complete with historical facts and events that took place, geographic descriptions, and personal experiences of his and his cherished family.

Sergio will be incredibly missed.

A celebration of his life will be held Monday, July 27, 2026 at 10am at Tribute & Tallent Funeral Service. 1937 N Sharon Amity Rd., Charlotte, NC 28205.
