Tim Edward Phillips

August 28, 1951 — May 30, 2026

Tim Edward Phillips of Charlotte, North Carolina, beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on May 30, 2026. He was born on August 28, 1951, in Phoenix, Arizona, to Charles Edward Phillips and Melba Virginia Phillips.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Betty Lou Phillips and Polly Ann Overcast.

He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Donna Phillips; his brothers, Charles Allen Phillips and Billy Phillips; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, church family, and dear friends who loved him deeply.

Tim attended Arizona State University and remained a proud Sun Devil fan throughout his life.

An entrepreneur, respected leader, devoted family man, and faithful servant, Tim lived a life marked by generosity, determination, kindness, and love. He will be remembered not only for what he accomplished, but also for the countless lives he touched.

With a strong work ethic and a gift for business, Tim was the owner of The Cabinet Company, a successful commercial cabinet business serving customers across 22 states. While he was proud of the company's success, what he valued most was the relationships he built along the way. Employees knew they were appreciated, and customers respected his honesty, fairness, and commitment to doing things the right way. Known for his quiet generosity, Tim often found ways to care for others through words, deeds, and encouragement. Tim always ensured the well being of his employees and would bring them food wherever they were to make sure they never went hungry. Tim was a humble leader who led by example throughout his lifetime; you would find him lending a hand with gentle integrity and charisma. He cared for many people—from employees, family, and friends—on countless occasions Tim eased the burden for many through challenging seasons, often opening his home to those who needed a place to stay and lending a helping hand.

Tim's Christian faith was the foundation of his life. His relationship with Jesus Christ guided the way he loved, served, and cared for others. Through both joyful seasons and difficult moments, he demonstrated compassion, grace, and a willingness to help those facing challenges.

One of Tim's greatest joys was the life he shared with Donna. Their love story began on the dance floor when they met swing dancing, and dancing remained a cherished weekly tradition throughout their marriage. Together they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, and treasured memories, including travels to Honduras, Ireland, Canada, and destinations throughout the United States. Tim and Donna attended Midwood Baptist Church in Charlotte, where their shared faith remained an important part of their lives.

Donna would like to extend special gratitude to Tim's niece Melissa, her husband Wheeler, and their son Dylan for the extraordinary love, care, and support they provided to both Tim and Donna during Tim's illness. Tim loved them dearly, and their kindness was a tremendous blessing to the family.

Those who knew Tim will remember his generous heart, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. He always had a joke ready, a mischievous smile to share, and a special way of lifting the spirits of those around him. Even in his final days, Tim continued bringing laughter, comfort, and joy to the people he loved.

Tim leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, hard work, generosity, and love. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who were blessed to know and to love him.

Donna would like to extend her deepest gratitude to their Pastor John Maiden of Midwood Baptist Church for his unwavering support, friendship, compassion, and love. Donna would also like to thank all of those who have prayed, brought food, shown so many acts of kindness, and been there for them throughout this extremely difficult time.
