Helen Katherine Lockery

Helen Katherine Lockery, Maplewood, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025.

Helen was born on August 27, 1932 to William and Isabel Kropp, No. St. Paul. She was the first of eight children: followed by Grace, Mary, Alice, Karen, Florence, Bonnie and Billy.

Helen was married to George Wiger (deceased), No. St. Paul, where they raised three children, Chuck, Don and Lorie.  Following George’s death, Helen married Ray Lockery (deceased), Maplewood, adding to her family was Don Lockery, Elaine and Heidi.  She had 21 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Helen loved her family and was a great cook, baker and storybook reader. She had a lifelong passion for gardening, flowers, and crocheting.She also enjoyed playing the accordion, especially polkas, singing, fishing, bowling at Webers, and a champion at Chinese checkers, even up until 92 yrs. old.

Helen mostly focused on being a stay home mom. She sometimes worked outside the home at places like No. St. Paul Bakery, Cowern school, Montgomery Wards and Bell Telephone.

Helen had a very strong relationship with Jesus. She loved encouraging others, almost always putting a yellow smiley face on everything she gave away 🙂She will be greatly missed.
