August 21, 1934 — August 29, 2022

BARRY COOPER OBITUARY Barry Cooper, 88, passed away on August 29, 2022, at home in Yuba City. Barry was born in Gridley, California, to Edward and Annette Cooper. As a boy he enjoyed helping take care of the animals on the family farm and reading to his younger sisters. He graduated from Gridley High, then moved to Redwood City. There he became a talented cabinet maker, and met his future wife, Connie. He converted to Catholicism to marry her and joined the Knights of Columbus. In 1968, he and his family moved to Yuba City. Barry also seasonally cut and sold trees for, then later ran, Woody's Christmas Trees in San Francisco, a business started by his father and uncle. He created beautiful wreaths that adorned homes and businesses in the city. Every year he came home to his family Christmas Eve bringing gifts just like Santa Claus! In his sixty's he started Cooper Cabinets, in Linda. He enjoyed watching movies, game shows, and the SF Giants with his family. He loved the outdoors, cooking, barbequing, camping trips to Tahoe, and the Buttes near his home. He loved to read, especially the newspaper starting with the funnies. He was shy and very hardworking, with a subtle sense of humor. His kind and generous nature made him eager to help anyone he met. We love and miss him! Barry leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Connie; son, Tony; daughter-in-law Janet; daughter, Cynthia; sisters, Sylvia and Joanne; and his grandchildren, Jane and Madeline. His sister Joanne joined him on September 8, 2022. A memorial service will be at Saint Isidore Catholic Church on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 10AM, followed by a reception at the Moose Lodge in Yuba City. Donations may be made to the Knights of Columbus.
