Rose Marie Wood

Rose Marie Wood (Kunzi) passed away peacefully Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 98.

Rose was born in Tennant, CA , to parents who had immigrated to the U.S. from Switzerland.

The family bought land in Marysville, CA , District 10, and raised livestock, farmed row crops and fruit trees.

Rose was married to Robert Wood for 48 years until his passing in 2018. They had lived in Fresno, CA , and later moved back to Yuba City, CA , to be close to family.

Rose and Bob enjoyed traveling, dancing and spending time with each other. She was an excellent cook and loved sharing meals with family, friends and neighbors.

She loved working in her yard, caring for her roses, flowers and fruit trees and was an avid reader.

Rose's faith was first and foremost in her life. She was a faithful member at First Lutheran Church, Yuba City.

She was a member of the quilting guild and helped sew and package quilts yearly to be shipped overseas to families in need.

She led a purpose-filled life devoted to sharing the word of Christ with others.

Rose was preceded in death by her father, Rudolph Kunzi; mother, Sophie; husband, Robert; brother, Ernest Kunzi; and sisters, Ruby Gutschmidt, Lillie Inman and Elsie Groesbeck.

Rose is survived by her stepson, Michael Wood; grandchildren, Scott and Lindsay; three great grandchildren; nephews, Steve Inman, Neal Groesbeck and Dan Gutschmidt; nieces, Kay Grynbaum, Lisa Vaughan, Janet Inman-Lauff and Amy Padavich.
