FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS

JERRY RON MILLER

05-06-1943 – 06-03-2026

______________________________

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Jerry Ron Miller, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, cousin, and friend, who passed away in Hillsboro, Oregon, on June 03, 2026. He was 83 years old.

He was born on May 06, 1943, in Bremerton Washington, to Ron and DeLaurice Miller. But he and his brother Ron were raised in Hillsboro, Forest Grove, and Cornelius, Oregon.

He leaves behind his three daughters, Kelly Baldock, Kacey Dahmen, and Khristie Dahlke, as well as his brother Ron Miller, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one on the way.

Jerry met Virginia Wilson shortly after high school through friends in the parking lot of a drive-in that featured carhops on roller skates. They were married from 1962 to 1973 while raising their three daughters. He was also married to Mary Wagonblast for a brief period of one year.

Jerry’s career began while working for his father building houses. He developed a lifelong talent for crafting beautiful pieces out of wood. He also dabbled in many diverse interests throughout his life, including fishing for crawdads in the Sacramento River, raising rabbits, candle making, selling potato chips to over 100 grocery stores.

But his most prized accomplishment was when he traveled to Pitcairn Island and lived there for two years to take photographs and record the sounds of the island. He learned to love the people, their ways of life, and their language.

For those of you who don’t know, Pitcairn Island is famously home to the modern-day descendants of the Mutiny on the Bounty. Jerry created a six-part VHS documentary about the life on the Island, as well as a mobile museum showcasing his beautiful photographs and handmade artifacts crafted by the island’s residents.

Most importantly, after several visits and long conversations with the island’s pastor, Jerry accepted Jesus as his personal Savior and was baptized in the Bounty Bay. His relationship with Jesus grew profoundly deep and he looked forward to being with him.

Jerry will be remembered for his quiet strength, his generosity, his beautiful workmanship, his captivating stories of Pitcairn Island, and his unconditional love for his family. He cherished every relative, past and present, and he never had a bad word to say about anyone.

Services will be held at Valley Memorial Park in Hillsboro, Oregon, June 27th at 11:00am. Afterward, family and friends are invited to gather at Tony and Kathy Miller’s home located at 36250 SW Bald Peak Rd in Hillsboro, where we can all share memories and celebrate Jerry’s life.
