John Thomas Gladden

On July 7th while having a dental procedure, John had a stroke while coming out of anesthesia. He was initially taken to Poudre Valley Hospital. While there he underwent a CT scan where it was discovered he had suffered a blood clot. He was then transported to Medical Center of the Rockies for removal of the clot. The clot was successfully removed; however, John was unable to recover from the deficits and the decision was made to place him in Hospice care.

John’s celebration of life will be held at Iasis Christ Fellowship Church, 3207 S. Taft Hill Rd. Fort Collins Colorado on July 28th at 11:00am

John was born in Evanston, ID. The family moved to the Carbondale IL area shortly after his birth.

His parents were June and Albert.

John enlisted in the Army and was a dog handler with the Military Police. After his honorable discharge John met his true love Joan Valli and were married in January of 1964. Then along came their daughter in October 1964. They then moved to Normal Il. After a vacation to Colorado John and Joan decided to move to Ft. Collins CO. in August of 1969. John worked for CSU. He started as a card puncher in the information systems dept. and worked his way up to Systems Analyst. He was the lead project manager for the Parking Management Dep. and for the CSU Library. John and Joan then changed tracks and moved to New Orleans, LA. for a couple years then to Memphis TN. for two years. They then came back to Ft. Collins in 1993 and opened their own Mortgage Finance Company.

John was an avid fisherman and camper; he started to officiate basketball for Ft. Collins Parks and Rec. and worked his way up the High School Officiating.

John is preceded in death by his parents and wife Joan. He is survived by his daughter and brother Donald.
