Carrie Rose Chavez Castaneda

Carrie Rose Chavez was born June 3rd, 1931, and passed May 7th, 2026. At the age of 95 she passed away at home surrounded by her children, grandchildren and many more family members.

She is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters, her parents. A son Sid Garcia, granddaughter Misty Rose Domingues and a grandson Gabe Adam Mendez Dominguez.

She is survived by her children, Rose Garcia and family (NY), Roger Garcia and family, Walter Garcis and family, Sandy Garcia and family, Roberta Garcia and family, Michael Castaneda and family, Ricky Castaneda and family from MO, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She loved gardening, camping, swimming, dancing and traveling. She loved road trips and flying a plane for vacation. She enjoyed painting her outdoor statues that she kept in her garden and maintaining the solar lights she kept in the yard so she could see them at night. She loved the outdoors. She played catcher on the family’s softball team. She loved to fill the easter eggs with change for the grandchildren, making a lot of food for Thanksgiving, dressing up for Halloween, and wrapping her gifts in newspapers for Christmas because it was different. She will be greatly missed by her children, family and many friends. Her memory will always linger, and her laughter and smile will always be with us. We will always have her childhood stories to remember.
