Charles Ray Dill

Our beloved husband and father, Charles (Chuck) Ray Dill joined the Heavenly Choir on November 3, 2024 in Loveland, Colorado. Chuck was born on October 29, 1937 to Geraldine (Gerry) Dill and Willis Dill, in Casper, Wyoming. During his childhood he lived in Casper Wyoming, Pocatello, Idaho, Murray and Salt Lake City Utah.

Chuck graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper, Wyoming in 1955. He continued his education at Casper College graduating in 1957. After graduation he joined the U.S. Navy as a Sonarman, serving from1957 to 1961. Once discharged from the Navy Chuck returned to Casper and enrolled once again at Casper College. It was there that he met his future wife Judith (Judy) Bishop when he talked her into accompanying his Barbershop Quartet.

Chuck worked at the Casper Commissary (later becoming Albertsons) while attending high school and Casper College.

Chuck and Judy were married on June 1, 1963 at the First Christian Church in Casper, Wyoming. They welcomed two sons into their family, Michael (Mike) G. Dill born on June 22, 1964, and Craig E Dill, born on August 4th, 1966. Both were born in Casper Wyoming. Chuck was extremely proud of his sons.

Chuck continued his career with Albertsons managing stores in Loveland, Greeley, Longmont, Fort Collins, and Denver Colorado. He also managed a store in Hobbs, New Mexico. He ended his career with Albertsons when he retired after 52 years.

Chuck was very active in his church serving as an Elder, President of the Congregation and chairing several committees. He also taught Sunday School classes.

Chuck loved singing in the church choirs and the Loveland Valentines City Barbershop Chorus. Additionally, he sang in several quartets throughout the years. Chuck was an avid fan of the Rockies, Avalanche, Nuggets, Broncos, and the University of Wyoming, Cowboys football. 

Chuck was very proud of his service in the Navy and told his family many stories about being on his ship and his cruises in the Mediterranean.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Judy, and his sons, Mike of Loveland, and his son Craig and wife Shannon of San Diego, along with his granddaughter, Kasey, of Holbrook AZ, and grandson Nathan (Nate) of San Diego, his sister-in-law Sandra (Sandy) Bishop of Lander Wyoming, brother-in-law Toney Bishop and wife Ellen and their family of Bozeman, Montana. He is also survived by many cousins. Chuck was predeceased by his father, Willis Dill, his mother Geraldine (Gerry) Larson, and stepfather James (Jim) Larsen, mother and father-in-law, Mary and Wilbert (Toney) Bishop, grandparents, Ora B. Conner and Girdle and Katie Dill.

Services for Chuck will be a family service at the Cheyenne National Military Cemetery, Cheyenne Wyoming on Friday, June 6, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Viegut Funeral Home Chapel located at. 1616 North Lincoln, Loveland, Colorado, 80538.
