Leada Loraine Jorgensen
October 22, 1928 — December 8, 2020
L. Loraine (Glade) Jorgensen was born in Greenfield Iowa on October 22,1928 to William and Edith (Evans) Glade. She was the middle child of six siblings: Velma, Leonard, Gene, Merlin, and Glen. After graduating from Guthrie Center Iowa, she married her grade school sweetheart, Les. They celebrated their 70th Anniversary last October. Les died on February 26 of this year. To this union were born six children. Besides raising six successful children, she gave a lifetime of time and talents and treasure to many organizations. She was very active in the Lutheran church, served many years as a 4H leader and was on the foundation. She was a member of Beta Womens Club, DAR, Cosmo Club, and was proud to be named Larimer County Outstanding Woman of the Year in 1973. She loved to garden and canned gallons of fruits, vegetables and fish every year. She was also an excellent seamstress. Loraine worked with Les in his painting contractor business. After he retired, she joined him in building churches, annexes and Lutheran schools with Laborers for Christ. Loraine loved to fish, camp, play cards, dance, and travel (to Europe, Africa, North, Central and South America). She loved Les, her children, grandchildren (14) and great grand -children (29). Most of all, she loved her Lord.
Loraine was proceeded in death by Les and son-in-law Dave Weitzel. She is survived by her children: LesLee (Ron) Heusinkveld, Steve (D’Ann) Jorgensen, Kevin (Robin) Jorgensen, Colette Riehl, Chris (Elaine) Jorgensen, and Susan Weitzel, one brother Glen Glade and three sisters-in-law Isbelle, Rose, and Ramona.
A memorial services will be planned next Spring. You may contribute in her memory to Lutherans for Life, Alpha Center or Life Line.
