In Loving Memory

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sam M Kirby Sr, a beloved soul who touched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Sam departed from this world on April 24, 2026, surrounded his family. His journey through life was one of hard work, dedication, and laughter.

Born on April 30, 1930, Sam grew up in Kansas, where he met the love of his life, Fran. He also cultivated a deep love for farming, motorcycles, and causing some trouble. Sam was an Army veteran. Long time Loveland residents, Sam moved his family to Colorado in 1968. He had his own business installing carpet for decades, then worked for HP in maintenance until his retirement.

Sam was deeply invested in the Christian Motorcycle Association, being one of the founders of the northern Colorado chapters. His efforts have left a lasting impact, and his vision continues to inspire those who follow in his footsteps. Sam, along with his wife Fran, spent countless hours volunteering and spreading the word of Jesus. Sam also taught motorcycle safety for many years. An avid hunter, he hunted in Colorado with his best friend, John Lex, and sometimes with his grandson Michael Kirby, hunting well into his 80’s

Sam was a devoted husband, dad and grandpa, and his love for family was unparalleled. Survived by son Sam M Kirby Jr and Sandy, daughter Lori Flitcroft and Chris, grandkids, Mike (Kim), Daniel, Ambrosia (Jeff), Jessica (Shawn), Heather (Michael), Mark, Danyell, Lisa, and Matt, with many great grandchildren. Sam held his loved ones close and built a home filled with laughter, warmth, and unforgettable moments. Sam is preceded in death by his wife Frances Kirby and son Robert Kirby.

Celebrating Life

A celebration of Sam’s life will be held on June 14th from 1-3 pm at the home of his daughter, 532 West County Road 72 in Wellington, CO. Friends, family, and all who were touched by his presence are invited to join in honoring his memory and sharing stories that highlight Sam’s extraordinary journey.
