Dean Allen Demars
April 26, 1944 — February 17, 2025
Dean “Dino” Allen DeMars
Born in St Paul, Minnesota on April 26, 1944 and died on February 17, 2025 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dino passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones after suffering from complications with Guillain-Barré Syndrome.
Dino is survived by his loving wife Kathi DeMars, with whom he shared 2 children, Mike (Alyson Wise) and Keely (Leigh) Hemric; brother Dale DeMars (Gina), sister Janet DeMars, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Anthony and mother Margaret, his sister Jeanne, and his granddaughter Leila.
Dino served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. He spent much of this service on the USS Enterprise as an Aviation Technician during the Vietnam War.
After discharge from the Navy, Dino spent the bulk of his career (37 years) at Northwestern Bell. It was there that he met his wife of 41 years, Kathi.
After retirement, Dino was very active with his hobbies, which included golf, hunting, fishing, and more. He was a lifetime lover of the great outdoors, and spent a great deal of his free time in the forest and on the lakes.
Dino leaves behind his loving family and also many good friends and neighbors, who will all miss his quirky personality and funny one-liners (affectionately referred to as ‘Dino-isms’).
Services will be February 26th at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in North St Paul, Minnesota at 12pm. There will be a wake 1 hour prior to the service.
Burial will be full military honors at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on February 26th at 2pm.
In Lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the Minnesota Conservation Federation (www.mncf.org) in Dino’s memory.
