James Aydt
Aug 24, 1949 — Jun 6, 2025
James (Jim) Charles Aydt, age 75, a life-long resident of St. Paul, MN, passed away on June 6, 2025.
Proceeded in death by parents, Lee V. and Leora (nee Schlampp) Aydt and in-laws, Walter and Elizabeth (nee Zanter) Aeilts.
Loving husband of 52 years to Barbara (Aeilts) Aydt. Dear father of Joshua Lee (Stephanie) Aydt. Grand“paw” of Morris. Beloved brother of Susan Whitney and Cindy (Nels) Henrickson, and brother-in-law of Deborah (Rick) Perry and Doreen Williams. Uncle of Jon-Michael, Peter, Jason, Gregory, Christopher, Travis, Adrianne, Collin and Adam. He had an abundance of family and friends who will dearly miss him.
Jim’s educational journey included St. Matthew’s Catholic School, Humboldt High School and the University of Minnesota. His interests and hobbies were as many and varied as his jobs, starting with being the neighborhood paperboy on the West Side of St. Paul, working at the Summerset golf course, overnights at the St. Paul Impound lot, ski instructor and teaching at Tartan High School in Oakdale, MN. He was a pilot, loved motorcycles, fishing, water sports, and never met a broken car he couldn’t fix. Jim enjoyed being with family and friends each summer at the cabin in Glenwood, MN on Lake Minnewaska. He also embraced every adventure around the world, especially when shared with his family and friends.
Let’s have one more party and celebrate this wonderful man: Please join us for “JIM JAM” on Saturday, August 16, 2025, 1-5 p.m., at Shamrock’s, 995 7th St. W., Saint Paul, MN 55102.
