William Cory Shea

July 12, 1934 — July 5, 2025

William Cory Shea, of St. Paul, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025.  Born in St. Paul on July 12, 1934, Bill had a happy childhood growing up the youngest of four children.  He graduated from St. Thomas Academy in 1952 and went to earn an undergraduate degree in Philosophy from the University of St. Thomas in 1956.  He began his career in sales and marketing with Brown & Bigelow and later continued his work at Promotional Alliance.

William (Bill) is survived by his sister Patricia Ann Shea, his sister-in-law Cecile Chabot Shea, his nieces Julie D’Attoma (Todd), Sabrina Erickson (Peter), his nephews Thomas Shea (Joan), Kevin Shea (Jennifer), eleven grand nieces and nephews, and his Godson Charlie Nocker.  He was preceded in death by his sister Norene Shea and his brother Thomas Shea.

Bill was witty, humble and kind-hearted.  He loved tending his gardens, traveling, and sharing a joke or a side conversation with those around his lively dinner table.  He was a gentle soul who lived a life of laughter, tradition, curiosity, and faith.  Whether it be enjoying the neighborhood cats, reading a history book, or serving a cocktail he had a quiet strength and generous spirit that touched everyone around him.  He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, loyalty, and love.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:45 am, on Friday, July 11, 2025, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church (1079 Summit Avenue) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.  Gifts may be made in William Shea’s memory to Feed My Starving Children either at www.fmsc.org or brought to the funeral services.
