October 21, 1947 — January 23, 2025
William James Voelker, 77, of Apple Valley, MN was called home on Thursday, January 23, 2025 while surrounded by his wife and grandsons at home.
Bill was born on October 21, 1947 in Monongahela, PA to Joseph Voelker and Elizabeth Montana. Bill always had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed the outdoors at length. At his leisure, he spent a lot of time either hunting, fishing, playing golf, or taking his family on road trips to scenic places. He also enjoyed hosting gatherings and would often be found with a Jack and Coke on his hand especially while playing cards.
During his life, Bill assumed multiple professions. His most proud achievement was having the honor of serving in the Marines for over 2 decades. He received the rank of Gunnery Sergeant before his retirement from the military. Some other notable professions included working in IT for the state of Minnesota, being a gate agent for Delta Airlines, and teaching computer science courses for St. Paul Vo-Tech.
Bill was preceded in death by his late wife, Paulita, and by his sister Mary and brother Bob. He is survived by his current wife Rosalia, brothers Chuck Voelker and Joe Voelker, children Brian Voelker, Annaliza (Brian) Heesch, Eunesele (Lewis) Goh, Ian (Racquel) Acedillo, Cyril (Douglas) Acedillo, Kit (Brad) Acedillo, and Jill Acedillo, and grandchildren Andrew Heesch, Michael Heesch, Christopher Heesch, Tommy Heesch, Gab Acedillo, Uriel Acedillo, Raphael Acedillo, Francoise Goh, and Joseph Goh, and dogs Sassy and Harley.
The funeral service will be at Willwerscheid Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 10:30 AM with a visitation beginning an hour prior to the service. The interment will take place at the Historic Fort Snelling Cemetery at 12:30 PM.
