Patricia J. Eiserman
Jul 1, 1939 — Jun 25, 2026
Patricia J. Eiserman, 86, of West Columbia, SC, passed away on June 25, 2026. Pat was born in Kaukauna, WI to Robert and Harriett (LaBorde) Balgie. She and her first husband had 4 children together, Debbie, Dan, Karen (Jeff), Cynthia. After raising her children “Dr. Pat” earned her doctorate in both Social and Clinical Psychology and began private practice. Her passion for physical fitness dominated her activities, walking 5 miles a day through age 85, until mesothelioma robbed her lung capacity.
She was an enthusiastic supporter and avid cheerleader for her children and grandchildren, always offering love and praise for their endeavors. She was known for being friendly and cheerful to everyone she met.
Her second husband Gary was the love of her life and brought her a stepdaughter Lynn and four more grandchildren. Dr. Pat loved doting on all her grandchildren, creating activities for them, fine-tuned to their interests. She was active with the Boy Scouts and loved sharing crafts and jokes with them. Her joyous disposition endured, even through physical pain, which she rose above with quiet strength. She will be remembered for all the above and her signature goodbye, “Bye for Now”.
Dr. Pat is preceded by her parents, husband Gary, daughter Debbie, brother Rod, sisters Jude and Susan. She is survived by her children, stepdaughter, brother Tom (Pat), sister Bonnie (Marc), 14 grandchildren, nieces and nephews and dear friends.
A service was held at her church, Mt Olive Lutheran Church, in Columbia, SC.
