Ann Karen Howard
December 21st, 1940 - September 9th, 2016
What could be better for a tennis lover than passing away on the day of the Women's US Open Tennis final? After years of defying the odds against her, Ann Karen Howard passed away on Sept. 10th from lung cancer at the age of 75. Originally from Wilkes-Barre, PA, this long time Bethesda resident known for her passion for life and her love of friends and family will be remembered for her positive, enthusiastic and lively spirit. Karen's natural gift was how to make anyone she met smile which she used as she participated in church sponsored mission trips to help the less fortunate. She is survived by her brother Dick Howard, his wife Ann and extended family. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed. A memorial service is planned for Sat. Sept. 24th at 10:00 AM at Metropolitan Memorial United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Karen's name at the church.
