Rapp Funeral Services was founded in 1982 in Silver Springs, Maryland, to provide the Washington, D.C., area with a low-cost alternative to traditional funeral homes. This philosophy and approach continue today, ensuring that every family receives the support they need without financial strain.   • Price is for direct cremation with basic cremation container, and without visitation, formal services, or ceremony.
  • Includes all of the essential services of the funeral director and staff.
  • Removal and local transportation of your loved one to the crematory (in Maryland within 25 miles).
  • Care of your loved one until cremation is complete.
  • Cremation process and return of ashes.
  • Consultation with responsible party for final arrangements.
  • All the necessary permits and authorizations.
  • Free self-service online obituary.
  • Many other optional services available - including celebration of life event planning, traditional funeral service, on-site catering, scattering assistance, and more - at additional charge.
  • Prices do not include urn or other merchandise, cash advances, filing fees, or death certificates. Please see complete price list for additional details and exclusions.

In August 2024, I lost my significant through death. Immediately, I contacted Rapp Funeral & Cremation Services, being in my Silver Spring, MD area and a walking distance. As his death happened so suddenly, Rapp Funeral & Cremation Services rose to the occasion picking up his body/corpse the following day, in the morning hours, from the hospital, without hesitation or how they were going to be paid. They were patient with me and his family, especially his daughter, who eventually took over all the responsibilities. He was cremated. Even when I went to see his corpse while waiting to be cremated, his corpse was handled well, looking peaceful and dignified. Up to the last moment of his memorial service, Rapp Funeral & Cremation Services treated me and his family with dignity and professionalism. They worked with us totally without reservation. A nice cleaned and well-kept funeral home. Even after his family and I were finished with Rapp Funeral & Cremation Services as related to my significant other's funeral, Rapp Funeral & Cremation Services continued to offer grieving supports via emails through its monthly newsletters. Very appreciative of its efforts, totally. George and Heather, the two staff members at the Silver Spring, MD 20910 that worked with me and the family were professional through and through, in their interactions, beyond pleased. As well as the other staff members that I communicated via phone calls showed professionalism, always pleasant.
