Anna Evelyn Grafton, 84 of Cloquet went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 23, 2014. Anna was born December 7, 1929 in Confluence, PA. to James and Bertha Smith. She graduated from high school in 1948. After high school she worked various jobs, including manufacturing and clerical work. On July 22, 1955 Anna married Charles Grafton in St. Marys, PA. In 1962 they moved to Cloquet. In 1963 she became a mother and devoted all of her time to being a wife to Charles and a mother to her children. Throughout her life, Anna enjoyed camping with the family, bowling with the ladies, and doting on her grandchildren. She also enjoyed flower gardening, baking, working crossword puzzles, mentoring and raising her children. She was soft spoken, gentle in spirit, and feisty to the core. Anna was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Anna is survived by her husband, Charles; two children, Dan (Robin) Grafton of Coon Rapids and Julie Love of Golden Valley; two grandchildren, Jennah Grafton and Reed Grafton both of Coon Rapids; two brothers, Arthur (Lil) Smith of Two Harbors and James "Bud" (Berdine) Smith of Confluence, Penn.; one sister, Shirley Uphold of Fontana, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews. Anna was a loving mother, wonderful wife, and beloved grandmother. She will be missed greatly and remembered often. Memorial Services were held on Sunday, March 30, 2014 in the Atkins Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet. Inurnment will be at a later date in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
