Belchertown-Anne M. Leger, 70, longtime resident and hairstylist for 51 years in the town of Belchertown, passed away September 20, 2021 at Baystate Hospital ICU with her soulmate of 30 years, Anne Kibbe, holding her hand while praying over her. Born December 2, 1950 in Fitchburg, she was the daughter of Theresa (Bernard) Leger (94) and the late Bernard Leger of Fitchburg. Besides her loving mother, Anne is survived by her soulmate of 30 years, Anne Kibbe, as well as her son Kevin Blaine (Melissa Morrell) of West Brookfield. She also leaves Anne Kibbe’s sons who she was a devoted loving mother to David Kibbe and his wife Casey of Belchertown, and Todd Kibbe of South Hadley. In addition, she leaves her 5 adored grandchildren, Nathan Blaine, Ryan Blaine, Hallie Blaine, Camden Kimball and Sydney Kibbe. Anne is survived by her sisters, Paula Schmidt and husband Bob of Simsonville, SC, Susan Allardice and husband Brien of Leominster, Joan O'Malley and husband Ray of Fitchburg, MA, and Nancy Leger of Greer, SC, and the mother of her two oldest grandsons, Sue Blaine. Besides her father, Anne was predeceased by her daughter, Andrea P. Blaine (24) in 2002, her sister, Carol Picard in 2016, her baby brother, Paul Leger (1953) Auntie Rita, and most recently her Auntie Yvonne. Anne grew up in Fitchburg with her 5 sisters in a very loving and caring family atmosphere. She graduated from St. Bernard’s HS in 1968 and then worked for a year to save up enough money to pay for her dream of becoming a hair stylist. Shortly after completing hairdressing school in Worcester, she moved to Belchertown. As owner of Angle Cuts Etc. for 30 years, Anne’s clients were more like family to her and she truly enjoyed the time she spent doing their hair and keeping up with their lives and their families. Anne loved boating especially during family times spent at Lake George, NY. She also enjoyed her quiet time reading books or watching her favorite movies. Anne was known for frequently sharing with others her favorite spiritual saying, “Greater is He in me than He who is in the world.” She was an amazing sweet, kind, truly loving soul full of life and laughter who will be forever remembered and missed by so many. In consideration for everyone's health and safety, a walk through visitation will be held Sunday Sept 26th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. A calling hour will precede the service on Monday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. with a service to begin at 2:00 p.m. on the town common, weather permitting, otherwise it will be inside the funeral home.
