"Camille E. Provost, 92, of South Hadley entered into his eternal rest January 9, 2014. Born in Holyoke, he was educated in the Immaculate Conception Elementary School, and graduated from Holyoke High School in 1939. He studied at the Western Mass. School of Pharmacy in Chicopee which was assimilated by the Mass. College of Pharmacy. He graduated in 1943 and began a long career at Hebert's Pharmacy where he was the owner for 60 years. He served in the U.S. Navy, during WWII, as a Pharmacist Mate. He belonged to The American Pharmacists Association and was a former member of the following associations: National Assoc.of Retail Druggists (NARD), Mass. College of Pharmacy Assoc. of the Alumni, American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, State Pharmacists Association, Mass. Assoc. of Pharmacists, Legislature Committee of Mass. Pharmacists Assoc., member of the Board of Directors and former Treasurer of the Beavers Club of Hampden County. He was a Life Member of both the Holyoke Lodge of Elks and Knights of Columbus, South Hadley Council and a member of American Legion Post, South Hadley since 1948. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Holyoke and awarded the Parish Leader Award in 1975. Camille worked at the Ludlow Jail and also at few years at Costco in W. Springfield. He is survived by his daughter, Nicole and husband Charles Lounsbury of SC; grandchildren, Camille and husband Roger Tucker; Elizabeth and Alexandra Lounsbury; great grandchildren, Benjamin Tucker, Devon Rodriguez and Maria Tucker and great grandson Ashton Tucker. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Dolores, in 2011. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, January 15th at Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St., at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Parish in Holyoke at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are on Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m."
