Charles I Ford
June 26th, 1930 - June 13th, 2016
Charles Isaac Ford, 85 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord, Monday, June 13, 2016. He was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church. He was employed with J.P. Stevens for twenty-six years and retired from Springs Industries in Fort Mill, SC with twenty years of service. His parents, Benjamin N. Ford and Anna Pearl Carlisle Ford, one sister Lora J. Ford Brandon and one brother Clifford R. Ford preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Oma Banks Ford of sixty six years, two brothers, Benjamin B. Ford & wife Mary (Fox) of Bremerton Washington and James Carlisle Ford & wife Kathy (Noble), also of Bremerton Washington, two sons, Terry W. Ford & Judy (Anderson) of Kingsport and Charles A. 'Chuck" Ford & Marsha (Hire) of Simpsonville, SC.; grandchildren, Amy Ford Lane & Jeff of Kingsport, Jonathan Ford & Candace 'Candi' (Self) of Knoxville, TN; Isaac Ford, Abigail Ford, Caleb Ford and Levi Ford of Simpsonville, SC, great-grandchildren, Isabelle 'Izzy' Lane, Emmett Lane and Payton Ford; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be from 5 - 7 pm Thursday on June 16, 2016 at Sunnyside Baptist Church, 406 Cooks Valley Road, Kingsport, TN 37664. Funeral services will be conducted in the church at 7 pm with Pastor Roy B. Graves and Pastor Jerry Musick, officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted at 11 am on Friday, June 17, 2016 at the Union Cemetery in Newport, TN conducted by the VFW Post of Morristown, TN. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in support of his great-granddaughter, Payton Ford, to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605 Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Ford family.
