Connie Lou Brandon, 82, of Loveland, passed away at home with family by her side on June 7, 2019, after several years living with Alzheimer’s. Connie was born on Christmas day, 1936, in Gordon, Nebraska to the late Woodrow and Bernadine (Warnke) Vollintine. She was raised on a farm outside of Gordon before moving to town. Connie graduated from Gordon High School and met her future husband soon after. She married the late Dave Brandon on June 20, 1955 in Gordon. They had six children and lived and worked in Gordon for 15 years when Dave, an entrepreneur in the auto parts business, expanded to Colorado and moved the family of eight to Loveland, Colorado in 1970. Connie worked in retail and customer service until being hired at Colorado State University (CSU) in the early 1980’s. The bulk of her 22 years at CSU was spent as a police dispatcher for the CSU Police Dept., retiring in 2002. Connie was an avid Cornhusker and spent many game days with Dave in her Nebraska red cheering them on. She also rooted for the CSU Rams, Broncos, Rockies and Nuggets. After retirement, she enjoyed 10 years volunteering at McKee Medical Center ER dept., gardening and raising Cocker Spaniels. She is survived by her beloved canine companion Oreo, sister Shirley Dohring, children Mark Brandon (Linda), Theresa Wright (Rob), Lisa Schroers (Michael), Mary Sullivan (Mike), 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, beloved nieces, nephews and numerous lifelong friends. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Dave, daughter Debbie and son Russ. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Connie’s honor to a charity of your choice.
