Darlene Curtin
August 31st, 1947 - November 6th, 2018
"Chicopee - Darlene A. (Auclair) Curtin, 71, died on November 6, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Palmer, August 31, 1947, she was the daughter of Henry and Lillian (Bronner) Auclair Bump. She has lived in Chicopee for 47 years and was a member of the Pioneer Valley Pond and Koi Club. Fondly known as Miss Dee Dee, she owned and operated The Fairview Mothers Day Out Daycare for many years. Darlene also worked as the office manager for Repworks before retiring. She enjoyed life and many things within it; reading, dancing, partying and most of all her family to name a few. Among many things, she will missed for her elegant themed dinners and her creative decorating for the holidays. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 50 years, Ted, along with her 3 children, Bryndis of Belchertown, Mary Vieira and her husband Michael of Ludlow, and Thomas Curtin and his wife Emily Ewing of South Hadley along with 5 precious grandchildren, Eric, Tyler, Sebastian, Nathan and Spencer. She also leaves 2 siblings, Evelyn Anderson of Belchertown and Larry Auclair and his partner, Mendy Levesque of Dennisport, MA , her godson, Matthew Anderson and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by 3 siblings, Ronnie Auclair, Gail Pariseau-Lapointe and Kenneth Auclair. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, Nov. 10 at 12:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St., (Rte 116). Calling hours will be Friday, November 9, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m prior to the ceremony. Because of Darlene's love of flowers the family would love to see her surrounded by them or memorial donations in her memory may be made to D'Amour Center for Cancer Care, 3350 Main St., Springfield, MA 01199.
