South Hadley - Dorcas A. (Pickup) Duff, 99, passed away in the comfort of her home on Nov. 22, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 18, 1922 in Holyoke, MA to Robert and Ellen (Wolstenholm) Pickup. Dorcas was raised in Holyoke and has been a resident of S. Hadley for 68 years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Dorcas loved spending time with her family and was very caring and generous to them. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Raymond I Duff and daughter, Aurise E. Schaarschmidt. She will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Robin Sligo and her husband Bill w/ whom she lived and Melody Ilnicky and her husband Roger of Granby. She is also survived by her 7 precious grandchildren, Rae Ann Joniec of Belchertown, Samantha Carriveau and husband Michael of Granby, April Mann of South Hadley, Robyn Mercier and her husband Jimmie of Granby, Eric Schaarschmidt and his wife Sherry of Tennessee, Travis Schaarschmidt and wife Lisa of South Hadley, and Shannon Sligo and wife Sarah of Missouri. She also leaves behind 13 great grandchildren, Corey Mercier, Ashlee Schaarschmidt, Raymond Joniec, Kayla Schaarschmidt, Shane Mercier, Zachary Mann, Rick Joniec, Jayna Schaarschmidt, Carley Carriveau, Callia Schaarschmidt, Ryan Sligo, Tealin Schaarschmidt, Hazel Sligo and 1 great great grandchild, Leilani Evans. All services are private and Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to either the American Heart Association, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospital.
